Seeking Indian American Stories Across America
In conjunction with the exhibition Beyond Bollywood: Indian Americans Shape the Nation, the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center is looking for stories from states that aren’t yet represented in the exhibition. We’re asking Indian Americans to share a unique memory and photograph related to their lives in the states below. The memories can be related to first days in the United States, everyday family life, an academic or professional achievement, travel, or a historic moment for the Indian American community, such as the founding of an Indian American association, institution, place of worship, or academic program. If you’d like to share your memory with us, please send a blurb of no more than 100 words along with a photograph (attached as a .jpg file) and caption to IndianAmerican@si.edu no later than Friday, May 1st, 2015.

Why are there states listed here? Are submissions limited to the states listed?
I’m asking the same question that was asked below. Will no one ever reply? Are submissions limited to the states listed? Seems so. And, then, why?
It’s in the description “looking for stories from states that aren’t yet represented in the exhibition.”
