We’re talking major tome – more than 800 pages devoted to a “joint biography” of two of the most famous names is film history. Because no single biography about either could be written without extensively including the other. Surprisingly, it’s vastly readable. While they made 16 films together – including the legendary Rashomon and Seven Samurai – Kurosawa and Mifune’s careers together and apart spanned more than half a century. Ironically, they stopped working together in 1965, both at the height of their successes. However, their influence, together and apart, on the international film world is simply phenomenal – and indisputable.  The book includes an extensive, detailed filmography highlighting all of the two legends’ films, and even a listing of television appearances.
