Take Nothing for Granted

What was the American Dream for Chinese immigrants in the 1940s? How did they go about achieving it, and what is their dream for their children in America today? This group interviews Chinese immigrants from Guang Dong and Hong Kong to find out what drew them to America and what the reality of life in America was like. They also celebrate the persistence of their forefathers, and the film is a symbol of thanksgiving to them. Also included is a useful short history of the American immigration and citizenship laws concerning Chinese immigrants.
