A couple of days ago, an unsuspecting me found a media mail package sitting on my front doorstep.<\/p>\n

Hmm …\u00a0I wasn’t expecting any new books nor had I been contacted by any PR people wanting to send me something fresh-off-the-press.\u00a0What could it be?<\/p>\n

When I\u00a0opened the package, I found\u00a0two galley copies of\u00a0The Asian Grandmothers Cookbook<\/em> nestled\u00a0neatly within.\u00a0(A galley copy is an advanced proof\u00a0of a book that is usually sent to reviewers).<\/p>\n

Whoa.<\/p>\n

My heart almost stopped.<\/p>\n

I jumped up and down\u00a0till\u00a0I was\u00a0silly.<\/p>\n

Then I\u00a0had to sit down.<\/p>\n

Once I recovered, I turned the bound book\u00a0over and over in my hands to make sure it was\u00a0tangible. Yes, it was real!<\/p>\n

The book has a soft cover and the interior photos are\u00a0in black and white for now but there it was–the cumulation of over two years of hard work. And most swoon-worthy of all, my name is on the cover!\u00a0<\/p>\n

Once the tingles stopped, what did I do?\u00a0I cooked from it!<\/p>\n

As grandma always says, please share!<\/p>\n
