The theme for\u00a0Congressional Night 2014 was Celebrating World Cultures<\/em> at the National Museum of the American Indian. Congressional Night is an extremely popular event, bringing in around 2,000 guests,\u00a0including\u00a0members of congress, along with their staffs, interns, and families. Guests and their families enjoyed food and drinks served on all four floors of the beautiful museum.<\/p>\n

On the 4th floor, a kids area provided entertainment for the youngest attendees. Throughout the night, cultural performances were hosted in the Potomac Atrium. One performance included The SAPAN Institute, whose performance took viewers through a journey of Bollywood dance and music\u00a0\u2013\u00a0including some lively mashups, energetic bhangra, and family fun. After the\u00a0performance, they invited guests to join them in a dance workshop.<\/p>\n

Hill staff members and their famlies joined the performers where they learned some fun, fast-paced choreography to popular Bollywood beats. Other performances included a traditional Feather Dance by the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians and dance and music by the Leishan Miao Music and Dance Group.<\/p>\n

A group called Kenge Kenge, Kenyan musicians who mix traditional JoLuo community music and popular Benga pop-music style, ended the night with an energetic and uplifting performance.
