{"id":2676,"date":"2010-09-28T11:11:47","date_gmt":"2010-09-28T15:11:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/apanews.si.edu\/?p=2676"},"modified":"2010-09-28T11:11:47","modified_gmt":"2010-09-28T15:11:47","slug":"volunteers-needed-for-teachers-night","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/apa.si.edu\/now\/volunteers-needed-for-teachers-night\/","title":{"rendered":"Volunteers Needed for Teacher&#8217;s Night"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <span class=\"bold\"><a href=\"http:\/\/smithsonianeducation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Smithsonian Center for Education and Museum Studies<\/a><\/span> is looking for volunteers to help with the annual <span class=\"bold\"><a href=\"http:\/\/smithsonianeducation.org\/educators\/professional_development\/teachers_night.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Teachers&#8217; Night<\/a><\/span>.\u00a0Thousands of teachers from all over the country who want to learn about the Smithsonian&#8217;s resources for schools will be attending.\u00a0Registration for teachers is required.<\/p>\n<div class=\"goBoxContainer\" style=\"float:left;margin-left:0;clear:left\">\n<div class=\"goBox\"><span class=\"bold\">Time:<\/span><br \/>\nFriday, October 22, 2010<br \/>\n7:00 &#8211; 9:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"bold\">Location:<\/span><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/americanhistory.si.edu\/visiting\/index.cfm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">National Museum of American History<\/a><br \/>\n14th Street and Constitution Avenue, NW<br \/>\nWashington, DC<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Volunteers are needed to help with registration, act as attendants for bag and program distribution, directional and exhibition monitors, theater seating, and assisting demonstrations.\u00a0We ask that volunteers arrive in two shifts, beginning at 5:00 p.m.\u00a0and 6:30 p.m. on October 22.<\/p>\n<p>Trainings will be held at the National Museum of American History\u00a0on October 5 and 6 (choose one), 5:00 &#8211; 6:30 p.m.\u00a0No special skills are required, but there will be a lot of walking.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"bold\">If you are interested in this opportunity or have questions, please contact <a href=\"mailto:rappoph@si.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Philippa Rappaport<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Smithsonian Center for Education and Museum Studies is looking for volunteers to help with the annual Teachers&#8217; Night.\u00a0Thousands of teachers from all over the country who want to learn about the Smithsonian&#8217;s resources for schools will be attending.\u00a0Registration for teachers is required.
