of the Ethnic Studies Movement
Adopting a lively “talk show” format moderated by Dr. Richard Kurin, Under Secretary for History, Art, and Culture, this program features the perspectives of Smithsonian colleagues who were instrumental in bringing culturally diverse scholarship to the Smithsonian.
The program will be introduced by Dr. G. Wayne Clough, Secretary of the Smithsonian, and will feature a brief overview of the Ethnic Studies movement by Dr. Juanita Tamayo Lott, who was instrumental in its formation.
Update: You can view the video of the symposium on Smithsonian’s YouTube Channel. (It’s a little lengthy).
