Franklin Odo, Curator in Work and Industry at the National Museum of American History, described clothing worn by Vietnamese refugee Catherine Hann when she left Vietnam after the fall of Saigon in 1975. Like many others, Hann subsequently worked in a nail salon—her uniform is also in the collection.

At the other end of the immigrant community spectrum, we had a pair of high fashion shoes from Taryn Rose, a Vietnamese American orthopedist who founded a highly successful luxury shoe brand bearing her name.
