The Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Program, in its inaugural collaboration with Arena Stage, one of the nation’s premier regional theaters, presented a Think Tank in conjunction with Arena Stage’s production of David Henry Hwang’s Tony Award-winning classic play, M. Butterfly.

The panel discussion featured playwrights Hwang, Chay Yew (A Language of Our Own, Red, Porcelain), and Julia Cho (Architecture of Loss, BFE), as well as senior editor of American Theatre magazine, Randy Gener.

The October 12 panel event was free and open to the public. Arena’s production of M. Butterfly ran through October 17, 2004.
