In our brave new world of interconnectedness, staying in touch even thousands of miles away is easier than ever before. And while making new friends in new places can be hard, sharing that first question of &#8220;&#8216;What&#8217;s your name?'&#8221; can put you well on your way to &#8220;one\u00a0friend\u00a0 two friends, and a few more friends.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Author Norma Simon, whose numerous books celebrate diversity among families and children with such titles as\u00a0<em>All Kinds of Families<\/em>, <em>All Kinds of Children<\/em>, and <em><a href=\"https:\/\/apa.si.edu\/bookdragon\/2003\/10\/17\/all-families-are-special-by-norma-simon-illustrated-by-teresa-flavin\/\">All Families Are Special<\/a><\/em>, offers a resounding voice for the importance of nurturing friendships for children (and really, for us all).
