28 Jul / Where Do You Look? by Marthe Jocelyn and Nell Jocelyn

Where Do You LookReady for some literal fun? This book is so ingenious, I can hardly stand it! Talk about different ways of seeing … not to mention the need to be open-minded, too!

“Where do you look for a cap?” … “On a tube of toothpaste? Or on your head?”

How about a match? In the laundry or on the soccer field?

You can wave goodbye at the train station, or you can catch a wave to shore. You can look for a letter in the mailbox, or search the colorful alphabet printed on the page.

Most importantly, “Where do you look for a story?” There’s the building across the street with multi-level structures, true. But best of all, you can also enjoy one “in your own bed,” as you cuddle up with cushy pillows and comforters. Go ahead, settle in with something light, something long, something scary, something mysterious, surely something perfect for all.

Mother/daughter team of Marthe Jocelyn and Nell Jocelyn (click on her resume to confirm Nell Jocelyn is also Nell Slaughter – her father is artist Tom Slaughter) are indubitably having soooooo much fun together, talking story, making pictures. The illustrations are as whimsically delightful as their words, from the content little girl enjoying her bright orange popsicle to the absolutely multi-culti group portrait of glasses-wearers including a little girl sporting the requisite ‘Groucho Marx’ variety!

Get ready to look with eyes wide open and let those clever giggles begin!
