As this volume is currently the last one available in English, I DID try and save and savor it … but once I opened its pages, I just couldn’t put it down. I think I qualify as a bonafide Urasawa addict for sure!
So the troubled Gesicht remains guarding the despicable Adolf Haas who is trying to avoid being wiped out by his own KKK-like robot-hating secret society. As twisted as Haas is, Gesicht finally learns why the desperate man hates him so. Superrobot Hercules (this volume’s coverbot) takes on the ever-more-mysterious Pluto with Epsilon’s help … but Pluto’s power seems neverending. Somewhere secreted away, mass murderer Darius XIV, mourning the loss of his country, is now being held by the United States of Thracia – might he be the one orchestrating the plot to kill all the superrobots of the world? And what exactly does he know about Pluto?
More and more, the Pluto series is eerily echoing events just passed. Persia, Darius XIV, United States of Thracia … are all hitting a little too close to home …
