Yunmi’s grandmother (her “Halmoni,” in Korean) has recently arrived from Korea and has difficulty adjusting to life in America. With the help of her friends, Yunmi persuades her grandmother to chaperone the annual Central Park class picnic. There, among Yunmi’s friends and teacher, her grandmother finds new acceptance and finally begins to feel at home.
