18 Dec / At Home in This World … a China adoption story by Jean Macleod, illustrated by Qin Su [in AsianWeek]

At Home in This WorldAn adoption story for slightly older kids that not only acknowledges the love and support of adoptive families, but also deals with the bittersweet questions and doubts about the loss of the birthfamily: “Sometimes I try to make sense out of why my birthparents would leave me,” coupled with “I remember wishing I had grown inside my mom and that she looked Chinese, like me.” At Home takes a realistic approach to the adoptive child’s struggles to understand her (or his) family experience.
