30 Apr / Aloft by Chang-rae Lee [in AsianWeek]

AloftLest I start babbling with incoherent glee about this book, just go out and buy it, borrow it, nab it, and read it – word for word, cover to cover. Lee writes in the voice of Jerry Battle, an Italian American Long Island suburbanite with two hapa children, who in his post-retirement is trying to make sense of a family in crisis.

Tidbit: If you’re interested, here’s an interview I did with Chang-rae Lee for the September/October 2004 issue of The Bloomsbury Review or the June 4, 2004 issue of AsianWeek.
