14 Feb / Global Baby Girls by The Global Fund for Children
“Cherish baby girls around the world,” the back cover rightfully demands. And who could possibly resist the red-cheeked cuddlebug from Russia, the laughing wonder from Peru, the bejeweled bundle from India, the kitty-hugger (never mind the beast himself) from New Zealand, the intrepid explorer (with a live crawfish!) from right here in the U.S.?
And yet, as The Global Fund for Children soberly reminds us, “Baby girls are precious, but they are not valued everywhere.” Which is why partial sales of this perfect-for-little-hands-to-hold board book go directly “to support innovative community-based organizations that provide opportunities to grow, thrive, and be strong.” To increase your feel-good investment, you could also consider the irresistible companion title, American Babies, for double the adorable fun.
“Wherever they are born, girls are beautiful, strong, bold, and bright. Baby girls can grow up to change the world.” Truth, indeed! Although I might cross out the ‘can’ and add my own ‘will‘ – with committed emphasis, too! Girl power all the way!

This is SUCH a good initiative. I’m thinking of getting a whole load for my Women’s group to give away for “full month” parties. Do you get this on Amazon?
If you’re asking about the book, here’s the link to The Global Fund’s “store” — where you can order ALL their books: https://www.globalfundforchildren.org/store/ They have quite a few and each one is a gem.
If, by “initiative,” you mean 10×10 or Girl Rising, you can learn more by clicking on those links.
You can actually request a screening near you through a new social media phenomenon called Gathr by clicking here. You’ll just need to ‘gather’ your women’s group to make it happen.
The Global Fund and 10×10/Girl Rising are not officially related, but they share many of the same goals. In addition to BookDragon, 10×10 is the other major project in my life. So I’m always thrilled when pieces align.
Audrey, thanks for your interest in The Global Fund for Children’s “Global Baby Girls.” We love the idea of sharing the book with your women’s group! If you need assistance placing an order, please contact me via email at info at globalfundforchildren dot org. Thanks!
