Vietnamese American Curriculum

In 2005, the Smithsonian Institution observed the 30th anniversary of the end of the war in southeast Asia and the beginning of significant Vietnamese migration to the United States with a Vietnamese American exhibition, a series of public programs, and the establishment of an endowment.
The exhibition, Exit Saigon, Enter Little Saigon, is now on national tour until 2010.
For the exhibition to reach more people, we are offering a curriculum to aid teachers in incorporating Vietnamese American history and culture into their classes. The curriculum is appropriate for 6th- through 9th-graders.
It consists of four units and a timeline, which can be used separately or in a series. Download the pdf versions of the curriculum below.
Read about the experiences of Indian Americans from the perspective of different bloggers covering topics such as culture, identity, family, recent events, and more.
Read blog articles from staff and interns at the National Museum of American History about Sweet & Sour related artifacts and stories. The Sweet & Sour showcase represents a milestone within an ongoing initiative by the museum to focus on its Chinese American history and culture through collections.
Part of the "Welcome to Smithsonian" video series, this short video explores the APA heritage within the Smithsonian Institution.
